What is cellulite?
Cellulite is the uneven distribution of enlarged fat cells in the connective tissue, mainly in the buttocks and thigh areas. Up to 90% of women globally are affected and look for effective treatment methods. Responsible for cellulite is the special architecture of the subcutaneous fatty tissue. The subcutaneous fatty tissue is a special form of the connective tissue where the adipose tissue displaces the normal connective tissue and penetrates into the dermis (upper skin). These fatty globules are defects in the skin layer that is normally or moreover ideally homogeneous due to the dense collagen fiber network. This results in relatively few collagen fiber bundles running parallel to the skin surface at the boundary between the dermis and the subcutaneous fat tissue. The patented active ingredient CHacoll® in the skin689® Creme Anti-Cellulite significantly increases the number of collagen fibers.
How does the Creme Anti-Cellulite work?
The skin689® Creme Anti-Cellulite with the patented active ingredient CHacoll® stimulates the fibroblasts in the epidermis and dermis to synthesize more collagen. The number of collagen fibers is increasing and the collagen fiber network is stabilized. In addition, it causes the adipose tissue in the skin to shrink. Both lead to a significant improvement in the appearance of the cellulite.
How is the skin689® Creme Anti-Cellulite applied?
As our anti-cellulite creme is quickly absorbed by the skin, it can be applied both in the morning and in the evening. For an optimal result, the creme is applied daily to the affected skin areas over a period of six to ten weeks.
Are there studies on the effectiveness of the skin689® Creme Anti-Cellulite?
Yes, efficacy has been confirmed in studies by the independent dermatological institutes Dermatest and proDERM. Various scientists and doctors took a critical look at these studies - they attested a robust study design and solid execution as well as outstanding results. In the Dermatest study, the creme was applied once a day for a period of twelve weeks. Efficacy measurements (skin elasticity, width and height of the protuberant fat lobules, width of the thigh) were conducted after four, eight and twelve weeks. No adverse skin reactions were reported during the observation period of 12 weeks and there was no indication of pathological lesions.Skin elasticity The skin elasticity was determined with a cutometer and increased in 100% of the subjects over the study. After four weeks on average by 13%, after 12 weeks by an average of 22%. For 100% of the study participants an improvement was already measured after 4 weeks.Area of fat lobules A significant effect was observed in the ultrasonic measurement of the protuberant fat lobules that are responsible for the typical cellulite skin pattern: the area of the fat globules decreased for 100% of the study participants. After four weeks with an average of 23%, and after twelve weeks an average decrease of 44%.Further studies can be found here.
What distinguishes sound efficacy studies?
"Unfortunately there are still very little controlled studies on the efficacy of the numerous products and treatment methods available on the market for cellulite," says dermatologist Tatjana Pavicic. So far, there have been more «eminence-based» rather than «evidence-based» statements on the efficacy of anti-cellulite products. "Eminence-based, we call those studies in which a respected surgeon simply said, 'I see an improvement in the skin', 'says Pavicic. For a substantiated statement however, clinical studies with objective measurements are necessary, for example ultrasound. "The studies should also best be placebo-controlled, because massaging the skin already helps somewhat," says Pavicic. "In addition, double-blind studies would be desirable in which neither the physicians nor the study participants know where the placebo is used."Source: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung "Cellulite - the new bubonic plague"
